I used the product twice, once to cut my hair and once to cut my beard, it cut the beard nicely without any difficulty but I think if your beard is hard it will be a bit difficult. If you have thick and coarse hair, it will most likely be too much trouble because the motor power is weak and the point where the mouth of the main head and the guide comb meet gets clogged very easily. I used Philips mg3710 before and was very happy with it for years, but the price difference between them is exactly twice, so the value for money ratio of this product is quite good.
